I've spent more than two decades working inside businesses on their systems. Banking, Construction Equipment, Manufacturing, Facilities Services, and the Trades. Different industries, but all of them had a version of the same goal: make the operations measurable, repeatable, and less dependent on any one person's memory.
Along the way that has meant implementing and running different field service software, building dashboards needed for visibility into operations, defining the KPIs behind key decisions, collecting new or organizing old data, automating reports people used to retype, and writing the SOPs that used to live in someone's head.
